Junior League members in the U.S. who volunteer 100 or more hours in a 12-month period on League-sponsored activities are eligible to receive the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Junior League members outside the U.S. who fulfill the same criteria are eligible for the AJLI President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Important Notice about the VSA Tracking System

Due to a dramatic decline in League interest and challenges in administering the program through the Points of Light Foundation, we discontinued our involvement with the Volunteer Service Awards program at the end of the 2008-2009 League year (please see the March 4, 2009 All League Email for details). We did, however, maintain this internal tracking system, which a few members continue to use.

Due to the overall lack of use and the costs associated with maintaining such a system, we will discontinue offering this service to Leagues as of March 31, 2011. You or your members may want to receive a copy of the tracked data. If so, please use the form below to request a copy of your VSA data, in Excel format. Please submit your request by Monday March 14, 2011.

If your League is still interested in tracking hours you may do so directly (and independent of AJLI) on the Volunteer Service Awards site http://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/.

Feel free to contact Laurie Dodge (ldodge@ajli.org) should you have any questions concerning this notice.
